Property Information Report & Building Compliance Letters

Property Information Report (PIR)

The Property Information Report offers information regarding the current Official Plan Designation and Zoning of the property, applicable Subdivision or Site Plan Agreements, issued building permits on file, and any outstanding orders as they relate to the Ontario Building Code, Zoning By-law and/or Property Standards By-law.

To make a complete request, please fill out the Property Information Request Form

The Applicable fee for a PIR Letter is $77.25

Payment can be made in the following methods;

  1. E-Transfer at epayments@erin.ca payers must NOT put in a password for us to process the transaction.
  2. Mailing/dropping off a cheque to Townhall; it is recommended to provide a copy of the invoice and reference any invoice or document number for cheque payments.
  3. To make payment over the phone by VISA or Mastercard; please call 519-855-4407 Ext. 255 to speak with the Town's Finance Department an additional 2% will be applied for any payments over $200.
  4. Visit the Town hall to pay with a debit card or cash.

Once payment has been made, Please submit your request for a PIR electronically by emailing planning@erin.ca building@erin.ca along with the receipt for proof of payment.

Building Compliance Letter

A building compliance letter is a document issued by a municipality that confirms a property's status regarding local regulations, such as zoning and building codes. It verifies whether a property's current use and any existing structures comply with the required rules and outlines information on active building permits, outstanding orders/violations.

If you are interested in receiving a compliance letter, complete the Compliance Request form and check off the appropriate section. Once completed, submit it along with the fee to the address or to the Planning & Building Department, planning@erin.ca / building@erin.ca shown on the form. Please note the Division requires a minimum of ten-fifteen (10-15) business days to process these requests.

The Applicable fee for a Planning Compliance Letter is $150.00

Once a receipt as been provided to you by the Finance Department, please forward along to the Planning Department along with the Request Form to ensure the request as been complete.

The processing time from the time of payment for a PIR / Compliance Letters is approximately 10-15 business days. 

Note: The Town does not have an expedited process or fee to retrieve Property Information Reports and/or Compliance Letters.
