Partnership with Rogers Communications supports seamless connectivity at Centre 2000

Date: May 05, 2025

The Town of Erin is excited to announce that the Erin Community Centre at Centre 2000 is now connected to fibre internet in partnership with Rogers Communications.

This significant upgrade allows staff to continue to deliver high-quality services at the facility, supporting users and residents.

“Reliable internet connectivity is crucial for our staff, enabling them to stay connected, collaborate efficiently, and access essential resources in real-time,” said Asher Jaffri, Erin’s Manager of Information Technology and Digital Transformation. “This ensures that we can provide top-notch services and support to our constituents, maintaining the high standards of service excellence that the Town of Erin is known for.”

Fibre internet is a form of high-speed internet that uses fibre optic cables to transmit data. This provides internet users with significantly faster download speeds and a more reliable internet connection.

“Fibre internet at Centre 2000 allows our public spaces to continue to be ‘centres’ of community,” said Bridget Ryan, council representative of Erin’s Parks, Recreation and Trails Advisory Committee. “Our Parks and Rec department has done a great job to continue to improve customer service and upgrade our facilities.”

Ryan added that this service benefits busy families and all users who spend time at the Erin Community Centre.

“This is an important step towards modernizing service delivery at the Town of Erin,” said Simon Wang, Systems and Information Specialist. “This upgrade will support the Town’s digital transformation, delivering more online services while enhancing user experience.”

Faster internet connectivity will play an instrumental role in supporting Erin’s recreation booking portal and other digital services.
