News Release: Town of Erin Raises Pride Flag

Date: Jun 15, 2020

For Immediate Release,
June 15, 2020

On June 15th, the Town of Erin proudly raised the rainbow flag, in celebration of Pride Month.

In recognition of Erin's LGBTQ2+ community and to mark national Pride Month, the Town of Erin has raised the Pride Flag over Fire Station 10, in Erin and Fire Station 50, in Hillsburgh.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Erin was unable to host a Flag Raising Ceremony. As we continue to raise the flag every June, from here on out, the Town is excited to include the community by hosting an official Flag Raising Ceremony.

"We embrace all members of our community, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, and I am proud to see the Pride flag raised for the first time in Erin", said Mayor Alls. "Raising the flag is just one small step in showing our commitment to being an inclusive community and look forward to continuing this new tradition for years to come, he added.

The flag will be raised for one week from June 15th, 2020 to June 22, 2020.
