News Release: Town of Erin Cancels Summer Camp

Date: Jun 04, 2020

For Immediate Release,
June 4, 2020

Due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19 and following the Provincial and public health directives, the Town of Erin has made the decision to cancel town-run summer camps for the summer of 2020.

Staff will be in contact with residents to issue refunds in the coming weeks, please be patient as we work through each refund. Residents should expect to receive a refund or credit on account by July 6, 2020.

As the Province of Ontario extends the State of Emergency, the Town of Erin decided to keep all Town facilities closed until further notice. Staff are in the process of contacting residents and organizations to issue refunds, or work on rescheduling the booking to a later date.

The Town of Erin is continuing to monitor the situation closely and any opportunity to safely re-open facilities following health directives including physical distancing or reduced group sizes will be posted to the Town's website and social media pages.

The Town recently announced the opening of Town outdoor recreation facilities, which includes the use of parks, multi-sport fields for non-team sports, the CENTRE 2000 skate park, and use of park benches and picnic tables. Playing on play structures and the use of public washrooms remain closed to public access.

Please continue to do your part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 by:

  • Adhering to physical distancing from anyone outside of your household
  • Use outdoor recreation amenities in groups less than five
  • Wash your hands or sanitize often
  • Wear a face covering if physical distancing is a challenge
  • Stay home if you are ill or experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms
