Wellington County Livestock Emergency Response (Large Animal Emergency Rescue) is a newly formed team within the County of Wellington. Wendy McIsaac-Swackhamer is the Team Lead and main contact for WCLAER. *****IF YOU HAVE A LIVESTOCK EMERGENCY PLEASE CALL OR TEXT (519)830-2484***** WCLAER will provide Emergency Services to local large animal owners when they find their animals in compromised situation. You can either call us directly or call 911 and first responders will contact us for assistance. We will work together to do our best to save the animal. The best outcomes is always a rescue vs. a recovery. We will also provide a basic awareness level training to your group i.e. Fire Fighters, EMS, Police, Riding Stables, Horse Show Organizers etc. There is a minimal fee for a training seminar, all of which is used to purchase and maintain equipment and to better our services. WCLAER will also visit your farm and give you tips on Fire Prevention, Emergency Action Plan implementation and Barn Safety - ask us about getting you on the track to improved safety
