This webpage has been created as an information source for Erin's 2018 Election for candidates as well as voters, and will be updated regularly.
Are you eligible to vote?
To be eligible to vote, you must:
- be a Canadian citizen
- be at least 18 years of age
- be a resident of the Town of Erin, or be an owner or tenant of land or the spouse of an owner or tenant of land in the Town of Erin; and
- not be prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act, or by any law
**It is the repsponsibility of the elector to ensure they are a qualified elector
Are you on the voters list?
A link to the online Voterview service will be provided in the spring of 2018. Using this service, it is easy to find out if you are on the voters list by submitting your information online.
Eligible voters without computer access or who would prefer assistance will be invited to call or attend the Municipal Office to find out if they are on the voters list. This service will be available in late summer of 2018.
Nomination Period: Tuesday May 1, 2018 to Friday July 27, 2018
Nomination forms may be filed by candidates any time the Clerk's office is open (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm), excluding statutory holidays, prior to Nomination Day.
On Nomination Day, July 27, 2018, nomination forms may be filed between 9:00am and 2:00pm. This is also the last day to withdrawl a nomination, by 2:00pm. If filed by an agent, it must be accompanied with written authorization from the candidate, signed by a Commissioner of Oaths.
Candiates are required to file their nomination prior to commencing campaign activities, including raising funds and incurring expenses.
