CAMPAIGN PERIOD: January 4th, 2010 to December 31, 2020
WITHDRAWAL OF NOMINATIONS OR ACCLAIMATIONS: September 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
REVISIONS (Application to remove an elector's name): beginning September 7th to end of voting October 25th, 2010.
END OF CAMPAIGN: December 31, 2010
ELECTION DAY: Monday October 25th, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
COUNCIL TERM BEGINS DECEMBER 1st, 2010 - Four year term
DEADLINE FOR FILING FINANCIAL STATEMENTS: March 25, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
WHO CAN and CANNOT VOTE:
ELIGIBLE VOTERS: a person is entitled to be an elector at an electio held in a local municpality, if on voting day he or she is:
- a Canadian citizen
- at least 18 years old
- residing in the local municipality or an owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant: and
- not otherwise prohibited from voting.
INELIGIBLE VOTERS: the following cannot vote in a municipal election:
- a person serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution:
- a corporation; or
- a person convicted of a corrupt practice for an election held within four years of voting day.
- a person who is acting as an executor.
