Village of Erin
The Village of Erin was originally named McMillan's Mills after Daniel McMillan who purchased the first sawmill in 1829 at age eighteen and built the first village house.
Hear and see the past again in the unique shops of the Village of Erin where doors creak and slam and old glass distorts the window displays. Behind the windows you find antiques, treasures by local artists and artisans, irresistible baking, fascinating reading, a house-full of decorating ideas and accessories, and places to dine or take tea. Experience the Charm!
Through the year, residents enjoy many Erin BIA events. From the Festival of Quilts in March/April, to Summer Celebration in May, Erin Fest in August and Window Wonderland and Tree Lighting in November, merchants of Main Street in Erin Village who make up the BIA (Business Improvement Area), devote themselves to a year-long series of events to entice and entertain visitors and residents.

Village of Hillsburgh
Located on the Elora Cataract Trailway, Hillsburgh offers a charming village experience with many conveniences. Discover fine furniture, stop for afternoon tea or enjoy excellent local theatre at the "Century Church".
Hillsburgh also boasts a Community Centre with complete arena, dressing rooms and banquet hall facilities.
The Let's Get Hillsburgh Growing Committee (LGHG) is a community group consisting of interested citizens and representatives from Hillsburgh's businesses and community groups. Formed in 2005, the LGHG Committee's purpose is to maintain and improve on the beautification and revitalization of "Main Street (now Trafalgar Rd) Hillsburgh" initiated by the taping of the television program "Take This Town and Sell It!"
Every year, LGHG is responsible for the hanging baskets and planters that adorn our downtown area along Trafalgar Road through the village during the summer. As well, the committee maintains and replaces, as necessary, the brightly coloured banners that hang on the poles above the planters. In the winter, the LGHG replaces the hanging baskets with Christmas wreaths.
These projects are all achieved through the financial support of the community and a small grant from the Town of Erin. Partnering with the Hillsburgh Lions Club, the LGHG volunteers prouding organize Spirit of the Hills Day, Hillsburgh's Family Fun Day. Held annually on the third Satuday of August, this event is a chance to celebrate the wonderful community we live in. Events include a classic car show, face painting, kids' games, local bands performing in the park plus much more. It's a fun time for the whole family!
