Public Works: Roads

The Town of Erin Public Works Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, cleaning, repair work, brushing, weed control and snow removal for 274.355 km of roads.

 

Winter Driving Season is here - please stay clear of our snow removal vehicles with blue flashing lights.  You can see them but they may not be able to see you.....

Please drive according to weather conditions!  Don't forget we get "winter" in Canada.

 

 

 

Earth Roads (including unopened road allowances) 0.32 km or 0.12 % of entire system length.

 

Gravel Roads 192.35 km or 70.11 % of entire system length.

Low Cost Bituminous (LCB) (Surface Treatment) 29.55 km or 10.77 % of entire system length.

High Cost Bituminous (HCB) (Hot Mix Asphalt) 52.135 km or 19.00 % of entire system length.

Boundary Roads total 38.7 km of which the Town maintains 13.9 km, 8.6 km of gravel and 5.3 km of Low Cost Bituminous (LCB) (Surface Treatment).

There are 48 structures with a span of greater than 3m on the Town's road system, 11 bridges and 37 culverts.

Rural Roadside Environment 236.25 km or 86.11 % of entire system length.

Semi-Urban 24.905 km OR 9.08 % of entire system length.

Urban 13.2 km or 4.81% of entire system length.
