Recreation

The Town of Erin is very fortunate to have a variety of recreational facilities in our Town.

Not only do we have the Elora Cataract Trailway running through our municipalIty, there are three golf courses in the Town, we are in close proximity to ski hills at the Caledon Ski Club and we have a number of our own recreational facilities for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Trail access points with parking at Centre 2000 in Erin, Main Street North in the Village of Erin, Trafalgar Rd. Hillsburgh, Station Street Hillsburgh and Main Street Orton. 

For walking, jogging, biking as well as horseback riding and snowmobiling when conditions are suitable.

From hiking trails to ball diamonds, hockey to snowmobiling, soccer to tennis, residents of the Town of Erin enjoy lots of activites to keep them fit - both indoors and out.  A lot of that action goes on at Barbour Field - with Hillsburgh Minor Softball and Hillsburgh Erin & Area District Soccer (HEADS) often having teams on their respective fields at the same time.

 1. 105 Trafalgar Rd. Hillsburgh Parkette: sitting areas, flower beds, stage
 2. Athenwood Park: (located on Elizabeth Street in Orton) playground equipment - just south off the Erin East Garafraxa Townline at the western edge of the hamlet of Orton.
3. Ballinafad Ball Park and Community Centre: hall, ball field, soccer field, playground equipment - on the Halton Erin Townline, west of Trafalgar Rd.
4. Barbour Field: ball diamonds (one lit) and soccer fields (one lit) - lacated at 5808 Eighth Line, just north of Wellington Rd. 22, east of the village of Hillsburgh (Trafalgar Rd.)
5. Berkley Estates: (Ospringe) vacant parkland to be developed - off Second Line, just north of Wellington Rd. 124 in Ospringe
6. Carberry Park: (located in the Village of Erin on Carberry Rd.) playground equipment - Carberry Rd. between Dundas St. W. and Main Street.

7. Centre 2000 Community Centre and Arena: arena, hall, tennis courts, ballpark, soccer field with lights, theatre - 14 Boland Drive, just north off Dundas St. E., east of the traffic lights at the intersection of Main Street and Dundas St, through intersection of Dundas and Daniel - along on left.
8. Crewson's Ridge: vacant parkland to be developed - north of the Halton Erin Townline at the Erin Eramosa Townline.
9. Hillsburgh Community Centre and Arena: arena and hall - 95 Trafalgar Rd. in the centre of the Village of Hillsburgh - intersection of Trafalgar Rd. and Mill Street.
10. Hill Street Park: conservation land - on Hill Street, east of Main Street just south of the business section ( Village of Erin)
11. Lion's Club Park:  playground equipment, pavillion - just east on Water Street from Main Street in the Village of Erin
12. Mountainview Parkette: (located at the end of Kenneth and Diane Streets) winter skating rink
13. Victoria Park: ball diamond with lights, winter ice rink and future skateboard park - take Mill Street east off Trafalgar Rd. in the Village of Hillsburgh.
14. McMillan Park at 109 Main Street in the Village of Erin - pavillion, lit pathways, benches and a chess/checkers table with benches located downtown in the Village.   Large public parking lot to the rear of the park available.
