1. What day is the transfer station open?
The transfer station is located at 5808 Eight Line (east of the Village of Hillsburgh) and is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is closed on those days if a Statutory Holiday like Christmas falls on one of the days is it scheduled to be open. The County of Wellington looks after all Solid Waste Services including this transfer station. They can be contacted at (519) 837-2601.
2. Do I need a burn permit?
Yes, if you are going to have any open fire - bon fire, burn pit, chiminia, you must apply for an Annual Burn Permit at a cost of $10.00. A Burn Permit By-law is given out with the Burn Permit outlining the fire regulations.
3. How much are dog tags?
Annual dog tags cost $20.00 each up to and including March 31st. After that the cost increases to $30.00 per tag.
4. The snowplow has hit my mailbox, what do I do?

5. Why hasn't my garbage/recycling been picked up?
The County of Wellington look after all Solid Waste Services - garbage collection, recycling collection and the transfer station. Please contact them for further information at (519) 837-2601 Ext. 2260. of hit "0" for immediate service.
6. My streetlight is out, what can I do about it?
Call the Town of Erin Public Work Roads Department at 519-855-4407 Ext. 254 to advise us that there is a problem with your streetlight. Please leave your name and the address of the light. Once several have been reported the crew is dispatched to make the repairs.
7. Where can I take my unwanted electronics?
The Ontario Electronc Stewardship is the industry organization responsible for implementing the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Program, according the the Waste Diversion Act, 2002.
