Letters From Students: Students from Erin Public School wrote letters in response to the Town of Erin's request for public input on future development, as part of the SSMP project. The first letter is a Grades 4/5/6 brainstorming session held by School Librarian Lesley Rowe; the rest are individual letters from Grade 7 and 8 students. The letters were sent to Phil Gravelle, who writes for the Erin Advocate. You can view the letters here.

Vision Statement

A vision statement is a statement that expresses the goals and expectations of the future of a community. It provides a clear, unified picture of the future, while also serving as a decision-making tool. This ensures that upcoming projects and initiatives fit within the community's vision of the future. The following is the vision statement for the Town of Erin, derived from the visioning exercises and the input of the Liaison Committee.

The Town of Erin will remain a vibrant, safe and sustainable community, located at the headwaters of the Credit and Grand Rivers. The Town will continue to capitalize on its proximity to large urban centres, while maintaining its excellent community spirit. With a strong employment base, and a range and mix of housing a higher percentage of the residents will work and continue to live within the Town of Erin. Visitors will enjoy the small-town atmosphere, unique shops and surrounding rural charm. Through responsible development and servicing, the Town’s rich natural environment will be protected and preserved.
